Staying Busy`

My job has me busy and that's wonderful.  I'm trying to get my manuscripts ready just in case and editor will look at one this weekend.  I am so excited about the SCBWI conference.  It's right here in Arlington, TX.  I know that it will be a turning point in my life.

I have a program for FWISD and I believe that I will be paid.  Yea!  I'm telling stories later this month in Hurst.  Oh let me be hopeful.  I'll be telling at Chisholm Park, Oct. 21, 2011 7pm,

There is Nothing Like A Good Story

Funny, serious, true, a mystery or just a plain old lie, a good story makes my day.  It was my pleasure to tell a short story at the School Librarian's Harvest Conference today in Fort Worth which was hosted by Region XI.  I saw two of my dear friends at their vendor tables.  I met with several area storytellers.  It was a wonderful day.  My next presentation will be at the Stop Six Senior Group next Thursday to tell them some stories.  I'll tell "Trouble and The Lion's Whisker".  Two good stories that our seniors will appreciate.

My job at the library has me going to nine branches to tell stories.  God is so wonderful.  I love telling stories and now I get to tell for the next nine weeks.  Have a blessed day, Jacqui

A Blessing

My first blessing.  My mother and I ate the rest of my subway sandwich from lunch.  I drank about 8 Oz's of fruit punch and ate a medium piece of bread pudding. Oh and I ate the other half of the banana from lunch.  My blessing was that I finished my dinner before 8pm.  It was about 7:15pm.  It's good to be finished with food for the day so I can concentrate on other things.  Lord prepare me for another day.  Let me see that the mountain has move just a tiny bit.  Thank you for my blessing.

Celebration Sunday

The Fort Worth end of Summer Reading Celebration was a blast.  I was one of the "Hot Spots".  I had a great crowd.  Parents were singing and children acting out stories.  What a great time.  Saturday night was such a blessing.  My daughter, daughter-n-law, granddaughter and dear church friends came to listen to me tell stories while Jennifer shot my demo CD.  It was great.  I have been blessed.

Oh the play, "A View From the Bridge" is coming along.  We open August 26, 2011.  We will be ready.

My voice lessons have improved my speech and breathing.  I enjoy my teacher.  I am blessed.

Foxy

Our library was full with people wanting to see Ms. Pam Grier.  She was kind and patient.  She read stories and signed lots and lots of autographs. It was exciting.

Rehersal Table Talk

It was interesting to see how my present lifestyle reflects some of the situations in our play.  The table discussions are educational and challenging.  The research that's required to present a great show is enormous.  My respect for good directors has grown tremendously.  Today life is good.

Rose Marine Theater

A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE  runs August 26 through September 11, 2011.

Wow! What A Great Summer!

Blessings have been pouring down on me.  I have a new car, a Saturn Vue and it's Prussian Blue....I taught the World of Puppetry for Tarrant Community College and the classes were GREAT!  I told stories at the Flower Mound Public Library and it was a blast.  Oh, and I got paid!  My biggest surprise was to be casted in a live play, "A View From The Bridge" to be at Rose Marine Theater.  I am so excited.

My blog may have to wait a long time for another post but I will try to post more often...  We took a new family picture so I have to update my blog.  I'm planning a story concert for the last of July or the first of August.  I'm looking for a place.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

My verse for the rest of the year.  Psalm 73:26  "my health may fail, and My spirit may grow weak, but GOD remains the strength of my heart; HE is mine FOREVER!!!

It's nice to have a "Great Day!"  I feel fine, work is good and my family is wonderful.  I saw two of my dear friends yesterday, Jan Peck and David Davis.  They showed me their new book, "The Green Mother Goose."  Oh, my what a wonderful job the illustrater did and the rhymes are great.  I need to send my books out to some more publishers.  I can't wait to see what illustrations will enhance my books.  Thank the Lord for Friends.

Jubilee

Wow! I auditioned at Jubilee Theater this afternoon.  It was fun.  I made the directors laugh and they smiled when I sang "Pick a bale of Cotton."   Now the wait to see if they call me for a second audition for a part.  The director did ask if I would be able to practice this summer?  Maybe a small part :) will come my way....

What a show!

We had a blast presenting the Vagina Monologues!  I was so happy to have my two loving daughters, three dear friends and my sweet daughter-n-law all attend the show.  I got some wonderful laughs and we had full houses for all the shows.  I've met some wonderful people and hope to be in a production somewhere soon... "until the violence ends."

SHOW TIME!

Wouldn't you know it.  Everything is happening this week.  I preform in the Vagina Monologues on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  The TEJAS Storytelling Festival is this weekend and I can only go preform for the Family Concert and drive home to get ready for tonight.  What a crazy week but oh soooooo much fun.  Today is Faye's birthday.  I miss her and long to hear her voice.  She encouraged me on all my wild endeavors.  My 82 year old mother, Gloria, has bought me two dresses to use in my storytelling.  She is such a sweet funny lady.  See ya'll later.
